Christmas Eve day was spent with Jono's brother, Rory, his wife, Jo, and their children, Edie and Flynn. They live outside London and drove in for the day. Alison and Jono put out a serious spread, which included a bird I'd never eaten: a partridge. We did not lack for meat: ham, chicken and poussin were also on the table (See photos for full list of menu items).  Several other families came over later for Jono's annual shadow puppet performance of the Night Before Christmas. Given my vast performing experience, I was given a small role holding the father asleep in his chair.
